PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of food and dietary supplement ingredients and products.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Prepare chemical reagents needed to perform testing. 
  • Conduct analytical testing that includes HPLC, HPTLC, ICP-OES, and LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Document test results per SOPs.
  • Perform instrument calibration verification 
  • Troubleshoot instrument performance
  • Identify deviations from specifications, perform retesting protocol, and communicate findings with recommendations to supervisor.
  • Track and dispose of chemicals according to safety protocol. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve laboratory efficiencies and meet company objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field or commensurate experience.
  • 3 - 5 years laboratory experience. 
  • The ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize and plan multiple work activities with varying deadlines and complexities. 
  • The ability to write SOPs and communicate effectively by email..  
  • A working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and instrumentation used in a chemistry laboratory.
  • A working knowledge of MicroSoft Office products.
